Training and support
Training is paid, practical and adapted to different levels of experience and learning styles.
Induction that works for you
Induction can be delivered through group classroom sessions, one-to-one training or blended learning. Theory can be completed at your own pace before practical face-to-face sessions.
The aim is simple: give every new starter the knowledge, confidence and practical skills needed to provide safe, person-centred care.
Support after training
You will meet your local Registered Manager, Care Coordinator and office team, receive uniform, ID and PPE, then complete shadowing alongside an experienced Care Assistant.
There is no fixed shadowing timescale. Support continues until you and your coordinator are confident that you are ready to work safely and independently.
Pay and benefits

Hourly pay
Weekday pay: £13.50 to £15.00 per hour, depending on location
Weekend pay: £15.00 to £17.00 per hour, depending on location

Do I need previous care experience?
No. Previous care experience is not essential. Spire Homecare looks for kindness, compassion, reliability and a genuine desire to help others. Paid training provides the skills and confidence required.
Do I need to drive?
Yes. Domiciliary Care Assistants need a full UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle because the role involves travelling between clients' homes.
What hours are available?
Typical shifts are 7am to 2pm and 4pm to 10pm. Full-time, part-time, evening and bank hours are available, with alternate weekend working expected.
How long does recruitment take?
Timescales depend on references and pre-employment checks. In most cases, applicants can expect the process to take between two and four weeks.
Are there opportunities for progression?
Yes. Care Assistants can progress into senior care, coordination, field supervision, training, recruitment or management, supported by ongoing learning and qualifications.
