Medication Assistance FAQs

What medication support can carers give?

When agreed in your care plan, carers can prompt or remind you to take medicine, help you access medication from packaging, give medication listed in your care plan, and apply prescribed creams or lotions.

Is medication support recorded?

Yes. Carers keep accurate records at each visit, including medication taken, refused or unavailable, and concerns are reported to the office promptly.

How should medication be stored at home?

Keep medication in its original labelled packaging or blister packs, store it safely, make sure there is enough in the home, and tell us about any changes to prescriptions or dosage.

How do I arrange medication assistance?

Contact your local Spire Homecare office to arrange an initial conversation and a personalised care assessment. Support is then planned around your assessed needs, routines and choices.
